365/7 - week twenty nine

This weekend one of my best friends was up from London to visit me. Normally when Ynika comes to stay we head into Glasgow for a night out, do a bit of shopping, go for dinner etc. However since alcohol is off the menu for me at the moment and early nights are what now get me excited, we thought we'd make the most of the daylight hours and the good weather!

We headed up to Loch Lomond for the day and ventured out on a boat. Ynika, being a Londoner born and bred, was overwhelmed with the scenery and after several visits to Glasgow when it's normally raining or snowing, finally believes that we do get a summer.

The sky and water were so blue and gorgeous I couldn't resist adding a few more photos to this post...

365/7 - week twenty eight

This week we decided to clear out our hall cupboard to make space for all things baby related. As expected it was hard and Paul and I found ourselves sitting looking through old letters, cards and watching old film footage that we had found. Most of the stuff was from years gone by and it was natural to let some stuff go... it felt right now there's a new addition to our life on the way.

The next chapter is about to begin...

365/7 - week twenty seven - the simple things

God I must be getting old...a bit of a 'twee' post for week 27...and a lovely image of a flower!

This week we had a few viewers for the house so on the way home I nipped into Morrisons (other large supermarkets are available) to pick up some flowers for the hallway. I grabbed a bunch of cheap priced scented lillies and popped them in a vase.

Now I, like most women, love flowers but this week I think my appreciation for the joy they can bring has taken on a new level. Waking up every morning and opening my bedroom door to the smell of the gorgeous lillies really did brighten up my day. In fact I began to make a habit of offering to be 'the fetcher of things from the kitchen' so I could just walk past them and get a whiff... what's happening to me!

I think if I said one more time 'WOW those flowers just smell gorgeous and they were only £4 from Morrisons' Paul might have killed me. I'm hoping he has taken the hint and although the flowers lasted a full 7 days (in fact they were still making the bin smell gorgeous once I ditched them!) I'm expecting a new bunch to appear in the vase VERY soon.
